Sixteen Lines as Love Lingers

the world goes on as your tiny paw warms on my hoof

ink clutching a wing

as fear homes toward the clouds and the sentry on a hill

1.     Let us linger over love

2.     Let the light libble over the lake’s incontinence

3.     Let light lift this adfled life

4.     Let the labile lattice live

5.     Let the blue dawn languor into the wood’s listening

6.     Let death chime chitinous with creature horns until it leaps out the back door

                                                                                                tumbling down

Let madness alliterate L’s, bite down bite down the leather reigns, this illiterate loss

7.     Let time, mad hatter, lick up the lawn stains from the mower’s lividity

8.     Let uncertainty, little dove, labber across the pitch behind the church

9.     Let the long-winded neighbor latrate with his featherless wings

10.  Let us, little rabbit, ping the world’s lungs long in the canyon’s thunder

11.  Let loss shrink

12.  Let memory steal the unknown from us, regardless of postage

13.  Let love linger

Let death slither out the front door, carry away unsolicited mail, we remain unopened

14.  Let loss stain rocks and knees buckle

15.  Let longing leg over us in the blossommeadow’s path

Let us lay on the beak of a mountain together under the sun’s lathe devoured by birds

16.  Let love linger for awhile
